True Slate Surface Call With Composite Pot

  • Will not weather
  • Will not crack
  • Will not absorb moisture

Slate Surface

  • Slate plays dry with wood striker
  • Slates plays wet with carbon striker
  • Slate has a much softer sound than other surfaces
  • The slate will always play when went such as in the rain of dropped into water
  • However if exposed to water for long periods of time, water can begin to absorb into the slate do to slate being naturally porous
  • Be sure to let the slate dry out properly before storing away and it will be ready again for the next hunt.

Slate Conditioning

  • Use scotch brite pad
  • Sand in small circular motions on entire surface of call
  • Be sure to wipe off the dust from surface before playing

Carbon Striker Conditioning

  • Set 120 grit sandpaper on a flat surface
  • Set tip of striker at 90 degrees to the sandpaper
  • Rub the striker back and forth on the sandpaper not applying to much pressure
  • This should only need to be done when the carbon striker begins to feel "off" or begins to slip on the slate surface.
